As Organizer I feel I must intervene in this debate regarding Christina's comments. Please note that her comments are HER opinions and not shared or endorsed by others in the group. While everyone is certainly entitled to their views and opinions, I was honestly taken aback by her comments and greatly disappointed. The organization that runs this event, Pena Andaluza, is a Spanish expat community that does its best to run good events and to share their culture with others. Que viva Espana!

Christina, I am a new member to this "SPANISH Language" Meetup and I was truly amazed at your racist comments. Mexican people speak spanish-------what are you doing in this group (???), since you have such a obvious distain of all things Mexican. Surely this is just a freak and the other members are NOTHING like you. If I don't read more postings of outrage regarding your racism I will assume the worst.

Oh and by the way, there were dancers up on the stage from SPAIN maybe if you were a bit fluent in the language you would of understood the announcement! I am shocked the moderator let her racist comment stay!

Christina....your comment is painfully ignorant and arrogant. I personally know the majority of people there and MANY of them are ACTUAL EXPATS FROM SPAIN! The announcer? Mexicans? Sorry you have such an issue with "Mexicans" you obviously know nothing about latino culture. Why can a chinese person live in a country for 10 generations and they're still chinese but because someone is from Mexico or another country they should forget their roots? I didn't realize you took a pole of birth places!

    Ahi nos vemos!! :)

Who attended?

    •  It was okay.
    •  Great fun! Colorful people. Brought me back to Spain! Ole!
    •  Very nice Feria! La pasamos muy bien! :)
    •  This was a great way to spend a summer day! The food and wine was good. The horses were fun and the Flameno was wonderful. Ole!
    •  Nice event, yummy gambas and vino! I enjoyed seeing many familiar faces and meeting some new people as well. Too bad I missed the Andalucian horses. I'll have to make it out early to the feria at Lake Forest in July.
    •  This was the worst I have ever experienced in my entire life. 99.9% of the people were Mexicans. It was nothing like a Sevilla in Ca. The dancers were Mexicans, the announcer was Mexican, the Spanish music was super mediocre and the food was worse than dog food. Even the low $5 to get in was too much for the awful spectacle. Please do not call this Sevilla in Ca, call it Mexico in Ca. I took 4 people with me and I was embarrassed and had to apologize. I have nothing against Mexico, is that I was expecting something from Spain. If you want to see real dancing and feria from Spain go to the Irvine Barclay Theatre: http://www.thebar... You can also see a preview in Youtube.
