The Society of Latino and Hispanic Writers (Miami Chapter) and the Florida Center for Literary Arts at Miami Dade College present, Writer's Slam, an open-mic showcase event for South Florida writers and poets. Wordsmiths of all levels and types are invited to join this celebration of words by sharing their short stories, poems, songs and skits in English, Spanish or Spanglish.

The session is free and open to the public. Each reading/performance is limited to five minutes. To share your work at the Writer's Slam event, please email your submission to [masked] by Monday, September 10 at 5 p.m. and write "Writer's Slam Participant" in the subject area. Those selected will be notified via email the following day.
